Can dogs be left alone?

Dogs, on the other hand, are pack animals and they see you as part of the pack. This can mean they can get stressed when you leave. Dogs are also more reliant on you because they need to be let out. An adult dog can be left alone for up to four to six hours a day, as a very general rule of thumb.
